On the morning of Dec, 1st 2010, Asiana Travel Mate launched the “Cyclo Community Outreach Program”. The event was held at the Toa Kham Boat Station, opens to all cyclos, hoteliers, restaurant owners, tour operators and other Tourism Industry professionals.
The purpose of the event was to initiate a continuing friendly dialogue with the cyclo community towards improving their livelihood and services to tourists. The objective is to support a culture of honesty, courtesy and reliability that will benefit their customers and local tourism.
The 3 hour seminar, focused on understanding the needs of the cyclo community and how we may help improve their livelihood, was attended by about 50 cyclo riders. They listened intently and gave important feedback. The program underscores our ethic of “REPONSIBLE TRAVEL & SHARING” and our commitment to the theme of “Think Green, Go Clean”. This theme, expressed through pragmatic action that involves and benefits the community will be the major thrust of our efforts in the coming year 2011.
